course description

Piano Evenings with David Dubal presents a tuition-based course for registered students on a semester basis, offering weekly educational presentations on three centuries of piano literature.

The Fall 2019 Semester features 12 classes from September 17 to December 10:

September 17
September 24
October 1
October 8
October 15
October 22
October 29
November 5
November 12
November 19
November 26
December 3 NO CLASS
December 10

Each class is hosted and instructed by David Dubal, who provides historical and musical context for the week's repertoire selections, performed by a rotating lineup of acclaimed pianists.

Part of Piano Evenings' educational mission is dedicated to the art of listening, which is why each session will feature more than an hour of live performances. This creates a unique hybrid environment, part classroom/part concert series, with students doubling as audiences and the professor doubling as emcee.

The piano repertoire is famously vast and ever-growing, so no two semesters of Piano Evenings will ever be the same. The course will never truly reach completion. Thus, students are encouraged to re-enroll each semester, and continue exploring the beauty and majesty of the piano literature together with their likeminded peers, in perpetuity!
